Precision, accuracy and cleanliness:
Quality check
In the spirits sector, quality control is a broad field of activity. From the assessment of barrel samples in the whisky sector to the organisation and supervision of fruit brandy and liqueur awards, the demands on the respective inspector are far-reaching.
The quality inspection is divided into different areas. In addition to sensory analyses, a laboratory analyses with a gas chromatograph or other more complex analyses methods is of course necessary, especially for ingredients such as methanol, hydrocyanic acid, etc., for which the legislator has set limit or guideline values or measure values.
As part of the duty of care, it is advisable for every company to have random checks carried out at regular intervals on products intended for sale. In the liqueur and spirits sector this is generally necessary for the determination of alcohol.
